Peninsula Regional Medical Center Internship

Welcome! My name is Brooke Ballenger and I am a senior at Salisbury University, majoring in communication arts with a track in public relations and minoring in marketing management.

Throughout my college experience and work I have done, I found two passions: communications and healthcare. It started over the 2016 summer when I interned at Kaiser Permanente in the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department. My internship provided me an incredible experience where I published articles, planned events, participated in company meetings, and got an overall feel of what it is like to be in the marketing and communications healthcare business.

The experience I had at Kaiser inspired me to pursue another internship in the same field. During this past Spring 2017 semester, my final semester of college, I interned at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in the Community Relations and Marketing Department. I gained even more skills writing newsletters and articles, helping plan internal and external events, and learning more about the healthcare industry. I feel more assured every day that I want to work for an organization where I can combine my communications knowledge and my passion for healthcare. Interning at Peninsula Regional Medical Center gave me the skills, exposure, and confidence to succeed in my future career.
